Greetings and salutations, to one and to all!!
I had a lot going on this month, and simultaneously had nothing going on. Perhaps it’s just the thought that it’s my last full month at home before leaving foreverrrrr *sobs into laptop* ok, well, not forever, but college is four years and when that’s approximately 22% of the life you’ve already lived, that feels like a long time.
Anyhow, this is not the time nor the place to tell you all about college. That can come when I’m actually at college (see what logic I’m capable of?? Be so proud of me). In the meantime, enjoy this month in review post ๐
Important Happenings โจ
- celebrated the Fourth of Julyyy; a good time was had by all despite our extremely lowkey manner of celebrations.
- went pickleballing for the very first time (I’m really bad at it ๐)
- went for a JEEP RIDE!!!!
- drew an accommodating and polite gentleman and then ignored everyone who tried to help me name him.
- was left home unattended and alone for three days; ’tis not for the faint of heart. I may be an introvert, but an empty house is just far too empty after a few hours.
- took my youngest sister on a wee shopping spree.
- went to camp aGAIN with the one and only Madi. Despite some initial car troubles we made it there safe and sound. Ate mid food, cheered and cheered and cheered for my team, tried to stay hydrated (haha jk without Madi I would have ended up at the nurse’s station due to dehydration), collected shinies, and stayed up far too late.
- got my locket stuck in our washing machine bc I forgot to take it out of my pocket after camp (even though!! I did check my pockets!! Just not well enough!!).
- celebrated my birthday and it was the best time ever!! My friends from a few hours away came to see me and we went to the Muny and saw the Newsies and nOW I’M OBSESSED. anyway, I felt so very loved that day ๐
- saw the Big Boy train
- went on a lil picnic
- went college shopping and subsequently bought out Walmart.
- added a bit of spontaneity to my Mondays.
- found a juvenile’s notebook in a Goodwill that had writing in it!! ah young love ๐๐คญ
- had my journal pooped upon by a bird and then forgot it somewhere so I was journal-less for a day and a half–IT WAS TORTURE
- spent far too much time working on a top-secret epic project for my boyfriend but IT WAS ALL WORTH IT BECAUSE IT’S GORGEOUS MWEHEHEHEHEHE
- made myself a bingo sheet for my first month or so of school–it’s so cool and I’m so pleased with it. If anyone here is in need of a bingo card, I and my free Canva account have got you covered.
Listening To ๐ถ

- the Newsies soundtrack Broadway recordings or movie soundtracks–I don’t even care. I’m so obsessed. The World Will Know and Carrying the Banner and Watch What Happens aahhhh such bangers!!
- AMAZING! ~ Josiah Queen and ELEVATION RHYTHM I wasn’t sure about this song to begin with (I wasn’t prepared for this sort of collab hehe) but y’all it’s so worth it.
- Daughter ~ Laura Williams I feel this song in my soul.
- Found/Tonight ~ Ben Platt and Lin-Manuel Miranda this song is so lyrical and layered and ahhhh!!
- Extraordinary Magic ~ Ben Rector did you know that extraordinary magic follows you around?? did you??
- Stars ~ Anne Wilson this song is so me. I adore the stars.
- I Want a Home ~ Heather Suzanne very folksie and fun.
- What If I Told You ~ for King & Country I love all their new music and I’m so pumped for their album in September ๐
Reading ๐
I read thirteen books this month!! Not very lucky of me, but we’ll just disregard that. I finally finished Mere Christianity and it only took me eight months ๐ It just has a lot of abstract ideas that take an immense amount of brainpower to comprehend.
My favorite book from this month was definitely Composer Anonymous. It was so beautiful!! I can’t believe no one’s ever heard of it before and aim to rectify this tragic situation by giving you a review-ish about it next week!!
Both Beyond Mulberry Glen and Bad Badger were immensely cozy. They gave some slight fall vibes, so keep that in mind for your upcoming fall atmospheric TBRs. I had started reading Mulberry Glen a few years back, but gave up on it for some odd reason. I cannot imagine why, because it’s such a beautiful book!! Highly recommend.
