‘Ello ‘ello ‘ello!!
Today I’ve been tagged by Shekinah to do the Interview Tag!! I adore tags, for they bolster my waning creativity and show that people are thinking of me. To those who always wish for me to tag them but I still never do–I’m so sorry. I can only remember so many things at once. I do respect and love you regardless.
*taps mic*
Ok, splendid. Just wanted to make sure it was on 😉 To the tag!!

le Questions
What made you want to start a blog and how did it come about?
My mother has had a blog for as long as I can remember (I think she actually started it just before I was born, sooo…), but at some point in 2024 I started stalking several bloggers and yearning for a blog of my very own.
Somewhat ironically, the particular day I chose to start messing about with wordpress was the day our family computer, which had been on the fritz for some time, finally gave up on us. I didn’t yet have a laptop, so used the family laptop 😀 and the rest, my friends, is history.
What is your blog about?
What is my blog not about, more like. It’s mostly centered around the spectacular books I come across in my wanderings. However, you will also find apocalypses, music, random musings, and all manner of other bloggerly shenaniganry. It’s a window into my life–which does not fit into one little category or genre.
How long have you been blogging (or how old is your blog)?
My blog is actually just a wee bit over one year old now!! *tosses confetti* My blog had its birthday at the end of May and I, sadly, didn’t do a single thing to celebrate. Alas.
What was your first blog post about?
My first blog post…
*flips back through the archives nostalgically*
Well, it was your average “welcome to the blog” post. I talked about how long I’d toyed with the idea of a blog, told the tale of how I started the blog when our computer was out of commission, and informed my illustrious audience what kind of posts to expect.
‘Twas complete with a random plant image from Unsplash. Or perhaps Pexels.
What kind of posts might we be seeing on your page in the near future?
This question implies that I have any sort of a plan in place for my posts. How terribly droll.
*consults drafts folder*
I’ve got several legal tags coming up, several snurched tags from so long ago in bloggish history that they may as well be new inventions, a post on judgmental librarians, one about judging the books on my TBR by their covers…and I’d love to implement occasional happy lists!! We’ll see about those, since they could simply be worked into my month-in-review posts (…if those stand the test of time, that is).
Aside from blogging, what are some of your other writing aspirations, if you have any?
I dabble in poetry, so publishing a book of poems would be so cool!! I also would love to write a work of fiction one day, but considering that I don’t write fiction ever, that day will not come very soon. I wrote a good amount of “books” when I was smol, so mayhaps you can look forward to a storybook collection of those for your amusement and pleasure one day in the distant future.
Why do you blog?
Annddd now we’re getting all philosophical. Stellar question…
*sits and ponders*
Multiple reasons, I suppose. I blog because there are beautiful and creative people out there that I can’t imagine life without anymore. I blog because I do have something to share with the world, meager though my offerings may be. I blog because I want to create a fun, cozy place on the interwebs. I blog because, well, it’s fun 😉
What are some interesting/fun facts about you?
Oh, there are so many 😏
- I’ve got red hair and I wouldn’t trade it for anything
- I’ve memorized a plethora of books of the Bible (but can no longer quote them bc it’s been too long 😐)
- I can’t do my own hair to save my life, but I make up for it by–just kidding, I can’t do other’s hair either.
- Dr. Pepper is my soda of choice (cherry, if it’s an option)
- I’m a plant mother and murderer (I currently have approximately twenty different plants scattered around my house, in various stages of swooning because I needed to have watered them like, two weeks ago).
- I adore the stars with an unexplainable passion.
- I am not an athlete, but I can show up any sportsman with my pure talent in the areas of music, poetry, and reading.
If you could tell the world anything, what would it be?
You actually aren’t enough. That’s the entire point. You can’t do this on your own and you never could, because you will never be enough all by yourself.
You desperately need Jesus. He’s enough, and he’s just waiting for you to realize that.
If you were to start another blog, what would it be about?
Funny you should ask that, since I actually did just start another blog!! My Substack blog is primarily for posting my poetry (and the occasional Emma M. Lion aesthetic or post announcement to direct attention to this blog). I started it with the intention of writing a poem per day in April, which is National Poetry Month. I made it about halfway through before crashing, burning, and running out of both inspiration and will to carry on.
If y’all care to investigate, here is Irreversibly, Ava!! I know I’ve mentioned it before, back in April, but here’s its official shoutout 😊
Who is your favorite author?
Only one?!? truly ’tis torture.
I suppose–nO WAIT I CHANGED MY MIND ALREADY. I was going to say Sara Ella, but I must insist upon Beth Brower. She has such a way with words and characters and redemption arcs and aahhhh she’s such a splendid author!! Her characters–Emma, Quincy, and the whole lot–feel so real, more real than any other characters I’ve ever met.
If you still haven’t read the Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion, if you’re still holding out because you don’t like things that are popular and are skeptical of such a viral novel, please. I beg you. Let go of your reservations and live life on the edge for just a wee bit. You won’t regret it, I promise.
Summer or winter? (And why!)
I shall have to go with summer for now (even though I usually don’t like whatever season I’m in 👀), since I’m excited for all the festivities July brings!! It has the most birthdays of any other month I know, including my own. Besides that, I’m doing my best to slow down and savor where I’m at in life. If that’s summer, so be it.
This is totally not me digging my heels in and refusing to acknowledge that my entire life is going to change in the fall. Ever resistant to change, that’s me 😁
Tag, You’re It!!
Thanks so much for the tag, Shekinah!! It’s been a lot of fun 😊
I think I’ll tag Mia at Mia Grace Reads, Isabelle at Spring Falls Chronicle, and Luca at Lighten Up the Page. Enjoy, m’dears!!
Coda
Thanks for reading, y’all!! Feel free to answer any of the questions in the comments or snurch for your own blogs. After all, what’s a tag without snurchment?? A question to ponder until next time *nod nod*
Always,
Ava 🛶

Aw thank you so much for tagging me <3
I adore your answers. Your blog is a joyous place and I am ever glad to have stumbled upon it. And how could one NOT pick Beth Brower? She is a magician with words.
